On Tuesday, March 11, we had the incredible honor of welcoming a very special guest none other than Montell Jordan! The legendary 90s R&B singer, best known for his hit This Is How We Do It, visited our denim store during his European tour.
A Personal Invitation and a Secret Plan
With Montell Jordan set to perform at poppodium Annabel in Rotterdam, we reached out and invited him to our store before his show. To our excitement, he accepted!
Wanting to make this moment even more special, we secretly gathered his measurements without revealing our true plan. Behind the scenes, our design team crafted a unique patchwork denim jacket and a stylish patchwork Fedora hat, while our son Lee handcrafted a custom pair of jeans—all designed exclusively for Montell.
The Big Day – March 11
The excitement was real as our entire team gathered early to prepare for Montell’s arrival. Two close friends also stopped by, adding to the anticipation.
At 3:30 PM, Montell Jordan messaged us: "I’m parking my car." Minutes later, he entered the store, dressed in a cool varsity jacket and his signature Fedora hat. His presence was magnetic, and after a warm introduction, we sat down and talked about fashion, music, and creativity.
A Custom-Made Surprise
As we chatted, we presented Montell with his exclusive patchwork jacket and Fedora hat. Then, Lee handed over the tailor-made jeans. Montell was genuinely surprised and thrilled, he immediately tried everything on.

Everything fit perfectly, as if it was meant for him (because it was!). While talking, we casually suggested he should wear his full IF DENIM outfit for his Annabel show that night. His response? "Of course!"
